First post...and an interesting Saturday...

Hello everyone. Here's my little entry into the blogging world. I've been meaning to do this for quite some time, but have yet to 'go all the way'. Wow, two sentences and I already sound dirty. Sweet.

Anyways, I'll be posting here every now and then to say what's on my mind, reflect on what I've seen in the world at that time, and probably to bitch about the sad political state of our fair nation.

So yesterday was quite the odd day. It started off quite nicely, slept in a bit on my week old queen size Serta mattress, which I am sooooo happy with. I used to have a shitty old twin on a rickety old bed frame that wasn't even mine. Now I have a grown-ups bed (called this because at least 3 people at work called it that when I said it was finally delivered. Strange. Any how, woke up about 9, cleaned up my e-mail box, which hadn't been done in a while, and just lay in bed surfing the web for a couple of hours. I ended up meeting some good friends from work at Fat Lorenzo's, a fantastic Pizza and Pasta joint pretty close to my place with portions worthy of the award that I linked to. It was a very nice time, excellent food, wonderful company, and beautiful weather. While there I got a call from my good friend and band mate Andy Wicks, who was just disc golfing with my other friend, and side-project-band-mate Mark Joesting, (aka Mojo). So, after a bit of loafing at my house post-lunch, I went to Andy's place where we met up with fellow Cathode Rae-ver Kyle Hoff (aka Hoffstra). We decided to go disc golfing using some new discs that Andy had picked up that very day, as well as some of Mojo's collection of discs. I'll defer to Andy's blog for the full story, but the short short version is that we got rear ended by a VW Passat wagon pretty damn hard. I felt fine, with a little stiff neck, but Andy and Kyle felt less that way, so we went to Abbott Northwest Hospital, and they got a clean bill of health and instructions on how to alleviate their pain. Poor guys.

That night we had a show at the Fallout Urban Art Fest, which was very cool, taking up a whole city street block, and including free food and lemonade, a bitchin' wall mural commemorating the occasion, and painting, tilemaking, and bookmaking for kids. They had a medium size stage setup at the end of the block, and we were the only rock-ish band that I saw, the rest were very acoustic, and more outwardly Christian, which is fine. So, we got setup quickly, were rockin' our set, and four songs into it, the extreme rock styling of our drummer Kor, combined with an old bass drum head, resulted in his completely destroying the kick drum head. Well, needless to say, that put an end to our set. I had the wise idea to just put the other side of the head on the pedal-side to help the next band, which worked out pretty well. At least you could hear the kick drum.

All in all, a damn weird day, but much much better than it could have been all things considered. I'm glad to be alive, and glad to be not stiff or sore at all.

Okay, well, all posts shant be of this length, I assure you. Thanks for listening.

Your link for Fat Lorenzo's ain't working. Sends me to Microsoft. Interesting. Is Fat Lorenzo's owned by Microsoft? Aren't we all owned, in some way, by Microsoft?
